Consultation

INITIAL CONSULTATION

  • Your appointment will go for at least 1.5 – 2 hours. Please allow yourself enough time to be here. Due to the nature of Ophthalmology appointments, the doctor can be running behind due to emergency patients or patients who require additional time for their condition.
  • Our Orthoptist will see you before the doctor and check your vision and pressure and if required will put dilating drops in your eyes to allow the doctor to look at the back of your eyes and complete a thorough examination. These drops will cause your near vision to be slightly blurred and you may be sensitive to the light for which we recommend to bring some sunglasses with you.

THINGS TO BRING TO YOUR CONSULTATION

  • We require a referral letter from a doctor or optometrist for your visit. If your doctor or Optometrist has not forwarded one to us directly, please bring a hard copy and any scans or images along with you for our doctor to view.
